Song of Moses – Exodus 15

The church theme for 2013 was ‘Redeemed For His Glory’, digging deep into Exodus to anchor the sermons.

This is a dance reflecting the triumph and rejoicing experienced by the Israelites after God delivered them from generations bonded under Pharoah’s harsh slavery. God through Moses parted the Red Sea and provided a way for His people. God is also a very present and real Mighty Deliverer for anyone who seeks him today.

Exodus 15:1-2:

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD, saying,

“I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his ridera he has thrown into the sea.
2The LORD is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (ESV)

Exodus 15:20

Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing. And Miriam sang to them:

“Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” (ESV)
